Quickstart Guide:

                       Next

This guide is for those who are already well acquainted with Adobe® GoLive™ and website design, already have a basic understanding of how shopping carts work, and want to just get on with it, and read the manual later.

There are two main folders in the kit: CatalogIntegrator Cart and
"CIModelUnix folder".

CatalogIntegrator Cart folder contains the GoLive Extend Script (Main.html) and icons that create the CatalogIntegrator Cart tab in the GoLive Objects palette. This Object Tab will contain a number of CatalogIntegrator "BuyObjects™" that you can drag and drop onto your product pages in the Layout Editor and configure by clicking on the hidden fields and filling in price, product name and number etc. in the Inspector.

"CIModelUnix folder"contains a CatalogIntegrator Cart site template that will make the creation of an e-commerce site simpler and easier. It is not absolutely necessary ... you can design your site any way you desire. But using this site template might make it easier to get started because if you use it according to the instructions, your BuyObjects will already be linked to the cart, and the cart will be in the right place when you get the actual cart and upload everything to the server.

Don't delete the word "folder" from the name of this folder if you are going to use it as a site template in GoLive 5, or GoLive 5 will not be able to recognize it.)

Installing and using the CatalogIntegrator BuyObjects Kit

1. First, make sure "Extend Scripts" is turned on in AGL 6.0 Preferences.

2. Then copy the entire folder "CatalogIntegrator Cart" into your Extend Scripts folder in the Modules folder in the Adobe Golive 6.0 application folder and re-launch Adobe GoLive 6.0.

The CB tab should appear in the Objects Palette.

3. Drag the BuyObjects from the Objects Palette, and drop them onto the page in Layout view.

4. Click on the hidden field icons and type in your product numbers, description, price etc.

5. The BuyObjects link to CatalogIntegrator Cart through the Form tag. If you use the
"CIModelUnix folder" site template, and place your product pages in the HTML directory, or in a directory at the same level relative to the root as the HTML directory, the form tags of each BuyObject will already be linked to the cart. There is more info on that in the BuyObjects sections of this documentation.

Installing and using the "CIModelUnix folder" site template

You can use the "CIModelUnix folder" as a Template site in the Templates folder in GoLive 5, so that when you want to build a CatalogIntegrator site, you can access it under File --> New Site --> Copy from Template and save a new site template wherever you want on your hard drive. Setting up a Site Template is covered in the Golive Manual or Online Help. Also here in this documentation.
